Lam Research streamlines finance reporting for 14,000 employees with KPI Partners

Lam Research, a $10 billion+ semiconductor company, faced a challenge with its reporting performance. The company had standardized on Power BI and Denodo for reporting and data abstraction, but its existing Power BI reports built on top of SAP BEx queries were performing very poorly. To address this, Lam Research selected KPI Partners through a rigorous RFP process to leverage their expertise.

KPI Partners implemented a solution that combined SAP BW on HANA with a HANA Sidecar architecture. They built new HANA models for various business functions, which were then consumed by either Denodo for virtualization or directly by Power BI. This allowed users to continue using the existing BEx system while simultaneously running optimized Power BI reports. The solution automated data loads and accomplished data standardization, streamlining the reporting process for finance, sales, and HCM data.
