Case Study: Western Pneumatics achieves major cost savings and improved safety with KPA Software

A KPA Case Study

Preview of the Western Pneumatics Case Study

Large Manufacturer Saves Money and Increases Productivity

Western Pneumatics, a nearly 300-person provider of large wood handling machinery, faced outdated EHS tools and sprawling spreadsheets that left training, compliance, and safety data unmanageable when Steve Pelkey became EHS Corporate Director. Needing an intuitive, enterprise-ready solution to track training, reduce accidents, and consolidate safety programs, Western evaluated vendors and selected KPA and its EHS software to replace the legacy systems.

KPA’s software centralized training tracking, automated notifications, and managed confined space training, Hazard Communication, emergency action plans, SDSs, spill prevention, and even maintenance and HR forms. As a result, Western Pneumatics’ experience modifier fell from 1.23 to 0.95, workers’ comp claims declined with multiple insurance windfalls, and supervisors gained consistent, timely visibility—delivering measurable cost savings and improved productivity across the company.
