Technical Community College Achieves Smarter Data Integration with Kore Technologies

Forsyth Technical Community College, which relies on Colleague by Ellucian on Rocket Software’s UniData as its central ERP, struggled to integrate that MultiValue system with purchased and custom applications because available tools were limited, costly, and added latency. Seeking a cost-effective, real-time integration approach, Forsyth Tech engaged Kore Technologies, initially using Kourier Integrator, SQL Accelerator and an Operational Data Store for Colleague and then evaluating Kore’s RESTful Web Services and REST Gateway.

Kore Technologies implemented its Kourier REST solution to build secure, real-time REST APIs between Colleague and Forsyth Tech’s custom apps, replacing flat-file transfers and scripted schedules. The change enabled real-time updates for course substitution, employee evaluations, and tutor requests, cut development time for an interactive organizational chart from months to days, reduced integration latency, and opened the door to bi-directional integrations and improved attendance reporting tied to state funding—delivering clear ROI and better support for student persistence and retention.
