The Layer Picker boosts volume at AG Logistics

AG Logistics Services, a 3PL with five Dutch warehouses serving supermarkets and clients such as Kraft Heinz, faced rising demand for faster, more flexible mixed-pallet deliveries and complex product mixes. To meet higher speed, volume and mixing requirements at its new Ede distribution center, AG Logistics Services partnered with Körber AG and selected a Layer Picker system.

Körber AG delivered a fully automated Layer Picker Gantry solution—including buffer storage, two transfer cars, inbound/outbound conveyors, de-wrapping/wrapping and automatic banding—integrated with the warehouse management system. The Ede site (opened 2021) now provides 47,500 pallet locations (672 buffer, 60 under gantry), enabling faster layer picking, efficient mixed-order pallet construction, easier repacking and higher throughput so AG Logistics Services can scale volume and “do more with less people.”
