Sedus Stoll AG, a Germany-based leading supplier of office equipment, was operating a legacy fully automated high-rack warehouse with around 12,000 storage spaces, four aisles each served by a stacking crane, and an upstream pallet conveyor system to supply its production plant. Managing and integrating this automated pallet and shelf-pallet handling infrastructure with production and IT systems was a key operational challenge for Sedus Stoll AG.

Working with Körber AG, Sedus Stoll AG implemented a Warehouse Management System plus add-ons including a fully integrated material flow system. Körber AG’s solution was completely integrated into SAP using standard SAP warehouse management functionality and added picking workstations to the pallet conveyor, enabling partial-quantity removals and efficient filling of shelf pallets (7 levels, each holding 2×3 containers), improving handling flexibility and end-to-end system integration.
