Scania - Customer Case Study

Scania in Södertälje, Sweden needed to modernize a 30‑year‑old cab transportation system to meet current requirements for capacity, accessibility (uptime) and personal safety. Körber AG (Körber Supply Chain) was engaged to design and supply a future‑proof material‑handling solution tailored to Scania’s special skids and assembly‑line needs.

Körber AG implemented custom three‑ and two‑string chain tracks, adapted roller conveyors, skid‑handling/stacking machines, area scanners, automated unload/load stations and integrated buffer storage, all installed within a tight three‑week window. The Körber AG solution increased capacity by about 20% (supporting roughly 80 cabins/day), improved operator ergonomics and safety, and required only minor software adjustments at start‑up.
