SAP and voice-directed work deliver results

Patterson Logistics, a Minnesota-based distributor of dental and veterinary products serving North America and the UK, faced a major logistics challenge: fulfilling 25,000 orders daily with 92% same- or next-day service while relying on paper processes and a legacy, non‑integrated WMS that hindered batch/serial number management and customer/vendor integration. To modernize operations Patterson selected Körber AG (working alongside My Supply Chain Group) to deliver a voice-enabled solution integrated with SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM).

Körber AG implemented voice-directed work tightly integrated into SAP EWM, plus RF scanning, mobile printing, wireless networking and SAP cartonization workflows, and supported 50 additional development enhancements across Patterson’s PLSI network. The solution delivered measurable gains: order fillers became about 25% faster, training time fell from a full day to a single walkthrough, more than half of legacy checking steps were eliminated with no loss of accuracy, and voice produced the fastest ROI—results Patterson now plans to scale to dozens more sites.
