Remiks - Customer Case Study

Remiks, a waste-services supplier and recycling center in Tromsø, Norway, faced ergonomic and productivity problems from manual sorting and quality checking of heavy (20–25 kg) pallets. To resolve rising demands for efficiency, quality and safer working conditions, Remiks engaged Körber AG (Körber Supply Chain) to provide an automated pallet sortation and quality-control solution.

Körber AG delivered a stand-alone automated pallet inspection and sortation system that destacks mixed pallets, presses protruding nails, centers and inspects blocks, boards, runners and nails, then sorts approved and rejected pallets into magazines. The Körber solution handles different pallet types at roughly 180–200 pallets per hour, eliminated manual pallet handling, removed the need for one full-time role and increased productivity by approximately 120%.
