Plan for warehouse expansion with CLASS

Panda Retail Company, the largest supermarket chain in Saudi Arabia with about 25,000 employees and 440 stores, faced rapid store-network growth and needed to build a new distribution centre in Jeddah while boosting productivity at its 90,000 m² Riyadh DC. To de-risk capital investment and optimise its distribution and supply capabilities, Panda selected Körber AG’s simulation product K.Sight CLASS to validate designs and plan resources before committing to major changes.

Körber AG consultants trained Panda’s team and built a Base Model with 97% accuracy using real operational data, then ran multiple scenarios to reveal bottlenecks and test remedies. Using CLASS, Panda eliminated inbound drop zones and moved to putaway direct to racking—improving putaway throughput by more than 50%—reallocated labour and MHE without added cost, simulated a 70% Ramadan volume surge, and validated Jeddah DC layouts and staffing strategies, delivering faster responses, higher operational efficiency and reduced investment risk.
