Oxford University Press uses Voice across multiple workflows

Oxford University Press (OUP), the world’s largest university press with a Kettering Distribution Centre dispatching over 36,000 orders monthly, faced end-of-life handheld terminals and wanted to retain its JDA Dispatcher WMS processes while improving ergonomics, safety, accuracy and training time. OUP selected Körber AG and its K.Motion Screen-to-Voice solution to replace HHTs and provide a hands-free, voice-enabled alternative.

Körber AG integrated K.Motion Screen-to-Voice in a matter of weeks with no WMS modifications, using belt-worn Talkman devices, lightweight headsets and session persistence to overcome RF dropout zones. The solution now runs across five workflows with over 70 users working eyes-free, hands-free, delivering productivity gains in excess of 10%, halving training time, reducing device repairs and lowering operating costs while improving safety and throughput.
