A Körber AG Case Study

Preview of the GNC Holdings Case Study

Optimizing transportation spend delivers savings

GNC Holdings, Inc., a global specialty retailer of vitamins, supplements and wellness products headquartered in Pittsburgh, faced rising transportation costs, limited visibility into shipping and carrier billing, and a need for contract optimization, SKU-level analytics and streamlined freight payment. To address these challenges, GNC engaged Körber AG and adopted Körber’s myShipINFO® global invoice audit, payment and visibility solution along with Transportation Spend Optimization services.

Körber AG implemented myShipINFO®, executed a multi-stage strategic sourcing strategy, integrated carrier billing with GNC’s WMS, and delivered role-based BI with KPIs and automated freight reporting. The program cut GNC’s transport spend by about 15.4% from a baseline of over $26 million—more than $4 million in hard dollar savings—while providing real-time billed-shipment visibility, proactive network analytics and ongoing finance and carrier-management improvements.
