Körber implementation sees productivity gains at RS Components

RS Components, the global high-service distributor of electronics and industrial components, faced the challenge of improving picking accuracy and throughput at its 600,000 sq ft Nuneaton distribution centre without disrupting multi-shift operations or replacing existing systems. To meet tight delivery windows and protect investments in its conveyor, SAP ERP and DAI WCS, RS engaged Körber AG to introduce a hands‑free voice picking solution.

Körber AG implemented its K.Motion Warehouse Execution System and K.Sight Data Analysis, deploying A730 belt‑worn voice units with SRX2 headsets integrated into RS’s conveyor and systems. The solution increased accuracy from 99.6% to 99.9% (+0.3%), delivered 26% productivity gains, provided real‑time visibility of performance and exceptions, and achieved high user acceptance.
