Case Study: Ariat improves efficiency and cuts associate walking 82% with Körber AG's K.Motion WMS and AMRs

A Körber AG Case Study

Preview of the Ariat Case Study

How a Warehouse Management System and flexible AMRs helped Ariat improve efficiency and employee satisfaction

Ariat International, a global footwear and apparel retailer, faced seasonal labor shortages, inconsistent technology across multiple 3PLs, and highly strenuous manual work in its new 1,000,000 sq. ft. distribution hub. To gain control of operations and improve flexibility, Ariat selected Körber AG and its K. Motion Warehouse Advantage (WMS), seeking a scalable solution to reduce manual labor and boost associate productivity and satisfaction.

Körber AG implemented K. Motion WMS and integrated Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) via a partner, deploying 88 AMRs with 2,000 racks and a standard interface for rapid rollout. The Körber AG solution cut training from weeks to a single day, reduced associate walking by ~82% (from ~40,000 to 7,000 steps/day), doubled associate productivity, improved picking accuracy and morale, and delivered a scalable, digitized warehouse platform.
