HKScan - Customer Case Study

HKScan, a leading Nordic meat producer operating a Vinderup plant that processes 170–180,000 Danish chickens daily, faced a highly manual dispatch operation with worn-out equipment, limited capacity, poor ergonomics and suboptimal data collection. To streamline dispatch, increase throughput and improve working conditions, HKScan invested in an automated palletizing solution from Körber AG featuring robot palletizers and integrated conveyor, lift and pallet-handling equipment.

Körber AG implemented a combined system of light‑duty conveyors, lifts, pallet conveyors, transfer carts, a pallet wrapper and four palletizing robots capable of handling cartons and bale‑arm crates in multiple layer patterns. The Körber solution raised palletizing efficiency, reduced staffing needs, removed repetitive tasks, improved ergonomics and integrated with HKScan’s IT for full product traceability, achieving up to 3,500 units per hour and as many as 60 pallets per hour.
