A Körber AG Case Study
Greiner Bio-One, the BioScience division of the Greiner Group, faced capacity and efficiency limits in its 1980s high-bay warehouse as business volumes grew, forcing storage at additional locations. Körber AG was engaged as general contractor to modernize the intralogistics, delivering a compact, automated high-bay warehouse and material-flow solution — including stacker cranes, conveyor systems, camera-equipped SRMs and Körber’s K.Sight PMS‑V with SAP-integrated WMS/MFS — to bring their logistics up to current demands.
Körber AG implemented a four-aisle, double‑depth high-bay warehouse (12,448 storage positions) with a central continuous pallet conveyor, ergonomic picking workstations, and full SAP-based control and visualization. The retrofit doubled on‑site pallet capacity, increased warehousing performance fivefold, and delivers a throughput of 100 pallets/hour, while onboard cameras and MX Control Center provide live monitoring and retrospective analysis — measurable gains that ready Greiner Bio-One for further growth.
