A Körber AG Case Study
BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, a global home‑appliance manufacturer with production sites, regional warehouses and cross‑docking points worldwide, faced a fragmented, heterogeneous transport‑planning landscape that could not meet growing order volumes and differentiated customer requirements. To centralize and modernize transport planning, BSH engaged Körber AG to pilot a template based on SAP TM 9.3 in Great Britain as the first step toward a global roll‑out.
Körber AG implemented a centrally integrated SAP TM 9.3 solution to replace decentralized systems, connect multiple ERP sources, optimize load space, calculate and allocate freight costs, and enable collaborative carrier interfaces and process monitoring. The pilot (July 2016) led to May 2017 go‑lives for two warehouses and eight cross‑docks in the UK, supporting ~100 trucks/day and ~4 million units/year with 48‑hour delivery windows; rollouts are now underway in Germany and Poland. Körber AG’s solution delivered consolidated transport requirements, higher automation, transparent planning and measurable freight‑cost control and invoicing.
