Berry Superfos Bouxwiller, a global design and engineering company in polymer conversion based in EME, France, faced the need to modernize a 20‑year‑old logistics site to meet new demand and optimize performance. The challenges included installing a new IT ecosystem to control goods flow, fully integrating automation components, improving inventory and batch tracking, and simplifying connections to technical equipment. To address this, Berry Superfos Bouxwiller led a global retrofit strategy with Körber AG using its supply chain software and automation (modern WMS/WCS, PLCs and mechanization).

Körber AG implemented the retrofit in two stages—deploying the current version of Körber’s WMS and adding Körber’s WCS for flow control while retrofitting installations and installing PLCs and mechanization. The solution centralized automated processes around the WMS, resulting in optimized storage strategies, higher and more secure availability rates, complete process optimization, and greater agility in order fulfillment.
