ASKO - Customer Case Study

ASKO, Norway’s largest grocery wholesaler (part of NorgesGruppen), needed to reduce heavy manual lifting of 20–25 kg pallets and improve pallet quality control at its ASKO NORD facility. ASKO engaged Körber AG to deploy its pallet quality inspection system to automate pallet handling, inspection and sortation.

Körber AG’s solution automatically destacks mixed EUR and NLP pallets, presses protruding nails, inspects boards, blocks and nails, and sorts pallets at up to 200 pallets/hour, eliminating manual handling and reducing line stops from broken pallets. The system saved one full-time job, improved productivity and ergonomics, raised sorting quality, and was pre-tested with a 1:1 FAT to ensure rapid, low-disruption installation.
