A Körber AG Case Study
AB InBev’s Magor Brewery in the UK needed to modernize its main warehouse to store, manage and distribute beer more efficiently within an existing 5,800 m2 building while maintaining connectivity to production lines and other warehouses. Körber AG provided an automated storage solution—including a multiple-depth high-bay system, stacker cranes with double satellite vehicles, a double shuttle car, conveyors and warehouse management integration—to maximize vertical space and support demanding throughput requirements.
Körber AG’s implementation increased storage density by shifting from two-pallet to six-pallet high stacks, raising capacity to roughly 14,400–16,400 closed pallets, reducing aisle footprint and enabling paired-pallet handling for higher throughput (stacker cranes: up to 135 pallets/hour in and 200 pallets/hour out). Integrated pallet quality checks, re-arranging stations, sequencing conveyors and seamless integration with AB InBev’s management software delivered on-time orders with minimal manual effort, 24/7 reliability and straightforward future expansion.
