A Kong Case Study
NexJ Systems, a Toronto-based provider of vertical CRM for financial services, faced high maintenance costs from large on‑prem, heavily customized deployments and needed to standardize test-driven workflows, reduce technical debt, accelerate development cycles, and enable API-based integrations. To support a move to a managed cloud offering and a microservices architecture, NexJ selected Kong—using Kong Enterprise and Kong’s Kubernetes Ingress Controller—to drive an API-first transformation.
Kong enabled NexJ to securely expose and templatize APIs, adopt an organization-wide API-first and test-driven mentality, and migrate toward reusable microservices. With Kong, NexJ launched a managed cloud CRM for Wealth Management, cut API development time from roughly 3–5 days to about 1–2 days (nearly halving cycle time), and established a foundation for third‑party integrations and a containerized, cloud‑managed platform.
