MS3 Selects Kong Mesh to Power its Next-Generation Integration Platform

MS3 (Mountain State Software Solutions), a Washington, D.C.–area consultancy specializing in enterprise integration, faced customers’ growing need for agility, end-to-end security, and high performance across both legacy VM estates and new Kubernetes workloads. Their challenges included inability to run a single solution across VMs and Kubernetes without forklift upgrades, performance degradation for high-throughput/large-payload apps, and heavy customization to tie service mesh features into edge gateways. After evaluating options, MS3 selected Kong and its Kong Mesh product to address these gaps.

Kong delivered a universal service mesh (Kong Mesh) with scalable, low‑latency Envoy data planes and seamless integration with Kong Gateway, enabling MS3 to support VMs and Kubernetes and migrate without forklift upgrades. The Kong solution preserved performance for workloads exceeding 10,000 transactions per second, reduced management complexity, and allowed integration with Kong Gateway for edge use cases with near‑zero customization—delivering measurable agility, scale, and reduced implementation overhead for MS3 and its customers.
