A Kong Case Study
Clearsense, a healthcare data company, needed a modern, compliant way to bring together patient, clinical, and external data across hybrid environments while supporting HIPAA requirements. To do this, Clearsense adopted Kong Gateway and Kuma service mesh as part of an API-centric, containerized architecture for ingesting, governing, and converting data from multiple healthcare sources.
Using Kong’s platform, Clearsense built a flexible healthcare data pipeline that could integrate batch, streaming, and API-based inputs, apply schemas as data needs evolved, and support advanced use cases like de-identification, enrichment, and research analytics. The result was a more scalable, modern data architecture that helped Clearsense deliver meaningful outcomes, including enabling Meharry Medical College to analyze COVID-19 disparities and present findings to Congress.
