Carhartt cuts storage costs by 75% with Komprise

Carhartt, a manufacturer of workwear, faced significant challenges with data sprawl and cost on an overloaded and outdated Windows Server 2008 R2 file system. Their 22TB of unstructured data, which included everything from HR information to user file shares, created security risks and management difficulties. To reduce storage costs and accelerate a migration to Microsoft Azure, they turned to Komprise Intelligent Data Management for a solution.

Komprise implemented its solution by deploying observers to analyze data and then automatically tiering cold data to Azure Blob storage based on Carhartt's policies. This allowed users and applications to access archived files transparently as if they were still local. As a result of using Komprise, Carhartt reduced its on-premises storage by 6TB and achieved a 75% cost savings on the data stored in Azure, while also improving access speeds for users in remote regions.
