Case Study: Nestlé achieves network-friendly, company-wide video delivery and 80% bandwidth savings with Kollective Technology

A Kollective Technology Case Study

Preview of the Nestle Case Study

Nestlé leverages Kollective to give over 180,000 of their employees a voice, enabling internal communications and collaboration with no impact on the network

Nestlé, the global nutrition, health and wellness company, faced an escalating challenge delivering internal video to employees worldwide—traditional streaming consumed too much bandwidth, couldn’t reach remote or segregated sites, and wasn’t scalable. After evaluating options, Nestlé selected Kollective and its software‑defined ECDN/front-end video distribution to provide a network‑friendly, hardware‑free way to distribute video enterprise‑wide.

Kollective was deployed on 120,000 end-user machines and integrated with SharePoint to enable live company events and employee uploads; the solution delivered measurable impact—an 80% reduction in video bandwidth, successful live broadcasts to all employees with no network impact, and rapid content growth (5,300 videos by end of 2012, rising to 22,513 videos and 209 live events by 2015). Kollective’s approach let Nestlé reach remote sites without infrastructure upgrades, save bandwidth and costs, and expand internal video collaboration.
