Effective Communication for Successful M&A

NXP Semiconductors faced a major communications challenge after its acquisition of Freescale: how to reach and align a 30,000-strong global workforce during a sensitive cultural transition. To avoid impersonal email and costly on‑premise hardware, NXP worked with Kollective and adopted a Skype Meeting Broadcast / Office 365–based approach augmented by Kollective’s peer‑to‑peer video distribution to centralize and scale employee communication via live video.

Kollective implemented a software‑defined, peer‑to‑peer video distribution solution that required no infrastructure overhaul, dramatically reduced bandwidth load, and integrated with Skype Meeting Broadcast. The result: HD live streaming at scale (simultaneous reach across 30,000+ employees), 15 executive events per year streamed to 3,000–5,000 viewers, seamless broadcasts with far fewer technical issues, and roughly a 90% reduction in infrastructure cost versus the prior hardware model—leading to higher employee engagement and broader executive adoption of video.
