The National Records & Archives Department of Vietnam faced the challenge of preserving its vast collection of fragile, decades-old historical records from degradation. To mitigate the risk of damage, the department sought to boost its digitization capabilities with high-quality scanners capable of handling a wide range of document sizes and media, prompting them to partner with vendor Kodak Alaris.

Through Kodak Alaris and its partner, a solution was implemented deploying 150 Kodak scanners and Kodak Capture Pro Software across multiple locations. The scanners provided superior image quality, accurate color reproduction, and smaller file sizes, which streamlined the archival process. This resulted in significantly fewer document re-scans, saving both time and money, while successfully preserving the nation's important texts as electronic records for future generations.
