Belfius Insurance, a leader in the Belgian insurance industry, faced the challenge of processing a high volume of paper documents from its 300+ broker offices without creating a central scanning bottleneck. To achieve a paperless workflow and improve efficiency, they partnered with vendor Kodak Alaris and implementation specialist ProceDo.

The solution involved deploying 315 KODAK ScanStation 730EX network scanners across all broker locations. These scanners were integrated with smart software to automatically classify documents and confirm their receipt centrally. This decentralized approach allowed brokers to process 7 to 8 million documents per year more efficiently. Kodak Alaris's technology enabled a plug-and-play implementation with zero business interruption, ensuring secure, high-quality scans and allowing paper documents to be destroyed after two months.
