Retail giant goes shopping for enterprise mobility Identity management at the heart of connecting people and systems

Kocho worked with a major retail organisation founded in the 19th century that operates 1,200 stores and employs 160,000 staff. The company wanted to improve collaboration, information sharing, and communication by launching a new SharePoint intranet and Yammer internal social network for all employees, but many staff were unwired users without Active Directory accounts or PCs.

Kocho implemented Azure Active Directory Premium, using DirSync and Forefront Identity Manager to synchronize and provision identities from on-premises Active Directory and the HR system into Azure AD. This gave all employees secure access to the intranet and collaboration tools, reduced manual account provisioning, and created a foundation for future device management and data protection, with the identity service also ready to support other cloud applications and services.
