A Kocho Case Study
Kocho worked with Staffordshire University to modernise identity management and reduce the burden on its helpdesk. The university had around 2,000 staff accounts managed manually with paper-based processes, alongside some unmanaged and outdated accounts that created security risks and delays.
Using Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager 2010, later upgraded to FIM R2, Kocho built an automated identity and access management solution that provisioned and removed accounts from Active Directory, Exchange mailboxes and other applications based on authoritative personnel and student data. The system improved security through automated account removal, streamlined account creation and changes, and reduced helpdesk workload by letting 22,000 staff and students reset passwords through self-service, while also helping the university build internal capability and independence.
