Spotify Drives Incremental Lift for McDonald’s with Custom Campaign Strategy

Spotify partnered with Kochava to help McDonald’s Australia understand the impact of a custom Spotify campaign strategy on engagement and conversions in the MyMacca’s app. Using Kochava’s mobile measurement platform and Kochava Foundry’s MediaLift service, the goal was to evaluate whether targeted streaming-audience segments and multi-format ads were driving meaningful app activity.

Kochava analyzed Spotify campaign impression data alongside MyMacca’s app behavior, modeled a lookalike control group, and measured incremental lift in registrations and orders. The study found an 8.7% boost in in-app registrations and thousands of additional in-app orders, with Gen Z and Families performing especially well; Kochava also identified differences by creative format and ad frequency to inform future campaigns.
