Black Bears, a mobile game development company behind the strategy game Towerlands, needed to adapt its iOS user acquisition strategy for Apple’s SKAdNetwork privacy framework. The team wanted better campaign attribution and user-quality insights to optimize performance on iOS. To address this, they turned to Kochava and its Free App Analytics® (FAA) offering.

Kochava’s FAA SDK gave Black Bears out-of-the-box SKAdNetwork support with no code required, including install tracking and configurable conversion value models. Black Bears used Kochava’s Highest Value Event model with Purchase as the key event, along with Ad View, Tutorial Complete, and Level Complete, and set the window to day 1 for fast feedback. As a result, they were able to optimize campaigns so that 56% of new users completed a purchase event on the same day they installed, helping Black Bears continually improve SKAdNetwork campaign performance with Kochava.
