Non-Profit Organization Speeds Service, Cuts Costs With KnowledgeLake Solution

Milwaukee Center for Independence (MCFI), a nonprofit organization serving people with disabilities and special needs, was overwhelmed by paper records from its programs and services. To improve efficiency, reduce storage costs, and meet strict compliance requirements, MCFI looked for an enterprise content management solution that would work with its existing Microsoft SharePoint environment. KnowledgeLake was selected to help address the organization’s document management, scanning, and search challenges.

Working with Concurrency, MCFI implemented KnowledgeLake Imaging for SharePoint, KnowledgeLake Capture, and KnowledgeLake Connect on top of SharePoint to digitize, index, search, and route documents. The KnowledgeLake solution helped MCFI speed up access to records, reduce retrieval time for timesheets from 15 minutes to less than a minute, and process about 6,000 timesheets and 2,000 invoices every two weeks. With fewer filing cabinets and less manual paper handling, KnowledgeLake also helped MCFI cut storage costs and free up office space for employees.
