Regional Council, a central organisation serving over a quarter of a million people and supporting 2,600 employees, needed to cut backend IT spend so it could redirect funds to frontline service priorities. With an ageing IT estate and pressure to reduce capital expenses, the Council turned to KnowledgeBus to help make purchasing more cost-effective and agile.

KnowledgeBus, a CIPS-accredited online benchmarking and spend analysis tool, gave the Council visibility into live product pricing, stock levels, and reseller margins. As a result, Regional Council reduced margins from as high as 300% to 3%, saved over 4% on a £2M hardware budget in 2013, and cut tendering times in half while improving forecasting and budget certainty.
