Telkom invests in a culture of cybersecurity awareness with KnowBe4 training

Telkom South Africa, a leading telecommunications provider, identified employees as the weakest link in its cybersecurity defenses and needed an affordable, engaging program to change behavior and meet compliance requirements. They selected KnowBe4 (using Popcorn Training content) to provide a subscription-based learning platform, a phishing simulator and the Phish Alert Button to build a culture of security awareness.

KnowBe4 delivered short, localized training modules, a baseline phishing simulator and the PAB; user surveys rated the content 4.7/5 from more than 5,000 employees, and the Spot the Phish game scored 4.8/5 with 95% positive feedback. The PAB generated over 8,000 employee-reported suspicious emails, and more than 12,000 employees participated with an average of 11,000 training completions per module—demonstrating strong engagement and measurable improvement in detection.
