Capitec, a leading financial services organisation, faced low engagement with security training across a diverse workforce, manual incident reporting, and a one-size-fits-all approach that left gaps in employee awareness. After six years of trying different solutions, Capitec moved to the KnowBe4 platform (using the Diamond license) to deliver a more digital, granular, and easily managed awareness programme that addressed middle‑management resistance, content limitations, and the need for simulation capabilities.

KnowBe4 implemented AD integration, Smart Groups, a large content library, automated phishing simulations, and the Phish Alert Button, allowing Capitec to deploy tailored campaigns quickly. Launched in just over a month (January 2019), the KnowBe4 solution substantially reduced the security team’s manual workload, enabled ongoing, relevant training, and drove a measurable increase in phishing reporting and user identification of threats that previous controls missed.
