Mayflower Theatre sees password security improvement with KnowBe4

Mayflower Theatre, a 2,300-seat venue in Southampton with roughly 80 full-time staff and a further ~240 casual/contract staff, wanted a proactive approach to cybersecurity—particularly better password practices and phishing awareness across a large, varied workforce. To address this, the Theatre adopted the KnowBe4 platform (security awareness training, phishing simulations and tools such as the Password Exposure Test) to educate users and raise overall security hygiene.

KnowBe4 was implemented in October 2017 with initial covert phishing baseline tests, followed by targeted training and repeated simulations; the Password Exposure Test and reporting were used to demonstrate password strength to auditors. The result, according to Mayflower’s IT manager, was a measurable decrease in successful phishing clicks, improved password security evidence for audits, 110 users on the platform today with plans to expand to platinum, and an overall reduction in risk and clear ROI from KnowBe4’s training and testing.
