SIG Plc, a leading European wholesale distributor of building materials with around 9,000 employees across 585 branches, faced rising cyber risk as its growth increased reliance on technology and data—and employees were identified as the most likely entry point for phishing attacks. With the board’s backing, CISO Carl Baron evaluated options and selected KnowBe4’s security awareness training and simulated phishing platform to strengthen the company’s human defenses.

KnowBe4 implemented a tailored, multi‑language program of short (10–15 minute) training modules, regular simulated phishing tests and monthly metric reporting, all easy to deploy and supported by responsive service. The result: SIG Plc’s phish‑prone percentage fell from 32% to 7%, with ongoing reports and campaign analytics guiding continued improvements and a target of 4%, along with positive employee feedback on the training.
