Metropolis International Group Transitions From Static SEG to Microsoft 365 and KnowBe4

Metropolis International Group, a UK-based media and technology firm managing over 40 publications, was struggling with a static Secure Email Gateway that caused misdirected emails, impersonation alerts and missed sophisticated phishing attacks — creating user friction and a heavy administrative burden. To address this, Metropolis evaluated and deployed KnowBe4 solutions, moving to Microsoft Exchange Online Protection while layering on the KnowBe4 Cloud Email Security Suite (including KnowBe4 Defend and Prevent) for enhanced protection.

KnowBe4 led a domain-by-domain migration off the old SEG and implemented behavioral AI, automated remediation, graymail filtering and bespoke DLP to secure mail flow without disrupting business continuity. The KnowBe4 deployment detected 12,696 dangerous emails and filtered 191,979 graymails over 90 days, helped prevent 49 potential data breaches, and markedly reduced operational overhead — freeing Metropolis’ small security team to focus on strategic work while lowering costs.
