Mido Foundation and KnowBe4 Student Edition

Mido Foundation runs Cyber Power Girls, a 10-week program that brings digital literacy and cybersecurity awareness to under-resourced schools in South Africa for girls aged 16–18. To fill a clear gap in learners’ understanding of online threats, Mido Foundation partnered with KnowBe4 and deployed KnowBe4 Student Edition to deliver age-appropriate security awareness training.

KnowBe4’s intuitive Student Edition was implemented as twice-weekly, ~10-minute video modules over the 10-week pilot, reaching 150 female learners. The KnowBe4 training led to strong engagement and positive feedback on video-based learning, increased confidence in identifying phishing, malware and online safety issues, and sparked interest in cybersecurity careers; funders have expressed support and Mido Foundation plans to seek renewed funding to continue the program.
