How Yarra Valley Grammar School Increased Compliance and Cut Phish-Prone™ Percentage in Half

Yarra Valley Grammar, a coeducational school in Melbourne with about 1,950 students, faced frequent, convincing phishing attempts—often phone calls purporting to be from banks followed by fraudulent emails—and needed a faster, more engaging way to help staff identify and report social engineering attacks. After evaluating options, the school turned to KnowBe4 and its security awareness training and simulated phishing platform to address the escalating threat landscape.

KnowBe4 delivered customized, regularly refreshed training content, simulated phishing campaigns, and robust reporting and analytics to identify risk areas and provide remediation for staff. As a result of the KnowBe4 program, training completion rates reached about 90% and the school’s Phish-prone™ Percentage fell from roughly 25% to 12.4%, while incident reporting increased and awareness across the organization measurably improved.
