Crawford & Company, a global claims management and outsourcing provider, faced increasing phishing and targeted email threats and wanted to ensure the highest levels of Microsoft 365 email security to preserve client confidentiality and protect sensitive data. To address this, Crawford engaged KnowBe4 and evaluated its cloud email security offerings, including KnowBe4 Defend and KnowBe4 Prevent.
Crawford selected KnowBe4 Defend and Prevent to add intelligent, zero‑trust inbound detection and outbound data‑loss prevention to their Exchange Online environment. KnowBe4’s Defend applies machine learning and NLP to analyze senders, domains, links, attachments and message context (including click‑time link analysis) while surfacing traffic‑light warnings and interactive banners; Prevent uses contextual ML and relationship mapping to detect wrong recipients, incorrect attachments and risky exfiltration, prompting or blocking actions. The deployment provided added security layers in Microsoft 365, improving detection of advanced phishing attacks, reducing human error in outbound email, and helping Crawford minimize its overall risk profile.
