Modena Local Public Health Authority, a healthcare organization serving the Modena area in Italy, needed a business intelligence tool for its clinical analysis laboratory that could handle big data, support real-time analysis, and provide easy-to-use reporting across different levels of detail. KNOWAGE was used within the PAGODA solution to help the authority monitor COVID-19-related performance and make data-driven decisions.

KNOWAGE, embedded in PAGODA, enabled the collection, integration, and analysis of laboratory data with graphical and tabular dashboards, KPI reporting, and real-time monitoring for staff and managers. The solution has been used since 2005 and has managed more than 2 million requests, 4 million samples, 14 million performances, 158 million analyses, and 476 million results, covering about 5 billion data points, helping improve workflow control, service quality, and consumables savings.
