Wave Life Sciences, a biotechnology company developing oligonucleotide therapeutics for serious genetically defined diseases, needed a faster, more reliable way to access, analyze, and share research data with domain experts. The challenge was to move quickly in a high-stakes, high-cost development environment while reducing manual work and improving collaboration across research, chemistry, and bioinformatics teams. Wave Life Sciences chose KNIME to support this end-to-end data science workflow.

Using KNIME’s visual analytics platform and WebPortal, Wave Life Sciences built interactive guided analytics applications for qPCR analysis, chemistry collaboration, and gene-species alignment workflows. KNIME enabled the team to combine built-in data science tools with R, Python, databases, and cloud resources, helping them detect errors earlier, save significant time, and reduce human error. The solution processed more than 200,000 observations in 24 months, while giving domain experts direct access to data and speeding up prototype development and decision-making.
