Soluzioni Informatiche worked with KNIME to streamline monthly expense reimbursement processing. Their accounting team had been manually collecting employee Excel expense files, copying and pasting data into a global spreadsheet, and matching costs with sales, which was time-consuming and error-prone.
KNIME implemented an automated workflow using KNIME Analytics Platform and KNIME WebPortal, with Excel Reader/Writer, Copy/Move, data blending, and Table to PDF nodes. The solution identifies the latest summary file, processes and renames employee files to prevent reprocessing, updates the master accounting workbook, and generates PDF reimbursement reports. As a result, KNIME reduced the monthly process from a couple of hours to a couple of minutes, while eliminating copy-and-paste mismatches.
