ASML, a Dutch semiconductor equipment manufacturer, faced challenges with its treasury department's manual and inaccurate USD cost forecasting, which created significant foreign exchange risk, and with its customer support engineers who struggled with a fragmented toolkit of specialized programming languages to diagnose complex machine issues. Using KNIME, ASML built an automated forecasting solution with direct connections to SAP and HANA, and a unified platform for customer support that integrated diverse engineering tools.
