City of Birmingham sells out March Madness sessions with Knight Eady

The City of Birmingham, in partnership with the SEC, sought to bring NCAA March Madness tournament games back to the city for the first time since 2008. Their challenge was to submit a winning bid and then plan, execute, and manage all aspects of the event to successfully showcase recent city and venue improvements. They engaged the vendor Knight Eady for event management services to accomplish this.

Knight Eady assembled a dedicated team to create the necessary event infrastructure. A critical part of their solution was hosting the C.M. Newton Classic as a trial run and site visit for the NCAA, allowing for proactive adjustments. Through diligent coordination with all vendors and stakeholders, Knight Eady ensured a successfully executed tournament. The result was a complete sell-out of all game sessions before the teams were even announced, culminating in an unforgettable event for the city.
