Accellion improves the way internal and external researchers share information

Weill Cornell Medical College, a leading medical research and teaching institution in New York City, faced growing collaboration demands as renovated labs and expanding projects produced ever-larger datasets. Its Office of Academic Computing needed a web-based, easy-to-use way for faculty, students and external partners to share and review large files—FTP proved too complex and email attachments created size, version-control and security problems.

The college adopted Accellion, a secure content-collaboration platform that delivers files via links instead of attachments and provides an intuitive web interface for internal and external users. The solution replaced FTP and reduced email load and IT overhead, enabling seamless sharing of large datasets (20MB+), improving productivity and eliminating the previous collaboration barriers.
