A Kitaboo Case Study
McGraw-Hill Education, a learning science company, faced the challenge of rapidly converting a vast library of its textbooks into fixed-layout eBooks. They needed to convert between 80,000 and 100,000 pages from PDF into ePUB format in both English and Arabic within a very tight deadline of just three to four weeks, while also addressing numerous issues with the source files. To meet this challenge, they partnered with the vendor KITABOO and utilized its Kitaboo digital publishing platform.
KITABOO implemented its cloud-based solution to automate the conversion process, using batch processing and custom coding to handle the high volume of pages. The vendor assigned a dedicated coordinator to manage communication and had development teams working in shifts to adapt to changing priorities. As a result, KITABOO successfully converted 100,000 pages into fixed-layout eBooks within the four-week timeframe. This enabled McGraw-Hill Education to expand the global reach of its product offerings and provide students with accessible, engaging digital content that maintained the original look and feel of the textbooks.
