McGraw-Hill Education adds 21 custom features with Kitaboo

McGraw-Hill Education, a learning science company, faced the challenge of converting its extensive library of K-12 educational content from the obsolete Flash format to HTML5. They needed to ensure compatibility across all browsers and devices, support numerous reader tools, and meet accessibility standards. To address this, they turned to the vendor Kitaboo and leveraged its cloud-based e-publishing solution.

Kitaboo implemented a solution involving close collaboration between both teams to customize its HTML Reader and integrate it with McGraw-Hill's ConnectED platform. They used Kitaboo's automatic conversion features for animations and wrote custom code to add 21 new features. The project was completed on time and on budget, resulting in content that is now accessible on all modern devices, reaches a wider audience, and provides a more engaging experience for end-users.
