Case Study: Gyldendal converts legacy literature into interactive, illustrated eBooks with KITABOO

A Kitaboo Case Study

Preview of the Gyldendal Case Study

KITABOO helps Gyldendal bring legacy content to life

Gyldendal, one of Norway’s largest publishers founded in 1925, faced the challenge of converting a large back catalogue of literature and teaching materials into interactive, illustrated eBooks quickly while keeping their existing web store and ecosystem unchanged. They engaged Kitaboo, using Kitaboo Publisher and the Kitaboo cloud reader, to modernize legacy content without disrupting their current systems.

Kitaboo analyzed Gyldendal’s setup and delivered a cloud deployment of Kitaboo Publisher for the editorial team, integrated with Gyldendal’s Tibet Server for eCommerce, and provided a branded Kitaboo cloud reader that required no app download. The result was faster eBook production supported by audio-sync and out-of-the-box Norwegian conversion, seamless publishing to the existing store, and support for Gyldendal’s differential pricing—enabling quick turnaround and sales without changing their infrastructure.
